Wedding Planning Questions
What does a wedding planner actually do?
Everything between the engagement and the last farewell that you would otherwise carry yourself. Venue selection, budget development, contract review and vendor negotiation, design, timelines, guest logistics, and running the day so that nobody has to ask you a question during your own wedding. The short version is that a planner carries the work and the decisions so you can be present for it.
How much does a wedding planner cost?
Initial investment starts at $4,500. There is no package pricing beyond that, because there are no packages: every engagement is quoted after a conversation about your venue, your guest count and how much of the planning you want carried for you. Scope drives cost, which is why the number comes after the conversation rather than before it.
When should we hire a wedding planner?
As soon as you have a date in mind, and ideally 12 to 18 months out. The venues and vendors most couples want are booked furthest ahead, so hiring early protects both your first choice and your negotiating position. If your date is closer than that, say so, and we will tell you honestly what is still possible.
What is the difference between a wedding planner and a venue coordinator?
A venue coordinator works for the venue. Your planner works for you. The coordinator is responsible for the room, the catering and the property’s interests, while we review every contract before you sign, manage every vendor including the ones the venue does not employ, and stay with you from the first decision through the last dance.
What is included in full-service planning?
